Google+ is a new social network that is kind of a combination of Facebook and Twitter, and includes games such as Angry Birds. It’s only about six or so months old, so it’s much smaller than either Facebook or Twitter. We’re monitoring all three places for your questions, though, so feel free to get in touch with us with them.

The idea is that it will be a blog similar to Roy on Rescue.  It will have entries that are both video based as well as text based.  Earlier this summer, I worked on a new design for the site after being inspired by the logo that we had developed for it a while ago.  After the design was finished, it inspired the concept for a blog that will run along side Roy on Rescue and this blog.

I’m very excited for the launch of this new blog, and I hope that you will come to find it as useful as we hope that it will be.

ProCPR on Facebook – We’ve got a growing community on Facebook that is already a few hundred strong. Join the community and communicate directly with us there!

ProCPR on YouTube – Subscribe to our youtube channel, and you’ll be updated when you log in to youtube, whenever we add some new videos. Recently we’ve added some snow safety videos to the mix, which have proven to be pretty successful with the harsh winter that has hit every state in the U.S.

@ProTrainings – Overall account that includes system wide updates, including new program announcements.

ProTrainings also has two lists: Network List, which includes all of the various twitter accounts listed below, and People List, which includes all of the people in the company that are on twitter.

@ProCPR – Any time we update the blog, this is updated.  We also respond to some inquiries, from time to time.  Feel free to mention us in your tweets!  We’ll try to get back to you in a timely manner.  We hope to hear from you soon!

@ProFirstAid – Any time that we add new videos and make some great new additions to ProFirstAid, we’ll update this account.  Our first aid training is second to none, we stand by it with confidence.  Any update we make improves the program, so keep up with us!

@ProBloodborne – We do the same thing here.  Yup.  Don’t want to repeat myself.  But in this case, it has to do with Bloodborne Pathogens program updates.  So, have you been watching the Winter Olympics?

@ProHomeSafety – This one, when we’re ready, will be updated pretty regularly with new home safety videos.  We just haven’t had the time to commit to making it into the project we all want it to be.  But we do have a nifty logo!

@RNstories – Here’s the newest member of our family.  All of you!  Well, the registered nurse variety.  This is the feed of the stories that are posted at RNstories.com, which we feel has great potential.  So get posting stories, and a great community will build around it!

Here is the first part of the press release:

Everyone knows that taking a CPR class is a good idea, but nobody seems to have the time. Now you can learn CPR without leaving home.

Grand Rapids, MI (PRWEB) September 23, 2008 — High quality video-based CPR training is now being offered for free to anyone with Internet access at www.ProCPR.org.

According to statistics provided by the American Heart Association, about 75 to 80 percent of all sudden cardiac arrests happen at home. Knowing what to do in the case of an emergency could mean the difference between life and death for a loved one.

Now Roy Shaw, a licensed paramedic and co-founder of ProCPR.org, is determined to make this life saving training available to anyone who is willing to take the time to learn. According to Roy, “No price can be placed on the value of a life. The Internet is helping us break down the barriers that exist with classroom training.” Upon completing the program, Morgan Schäaf, a C.N.A. from Jacksonville, FL, wrote, “I found the training much more interesting and plausible than the traditional classroom experience. I’m going to recommend this to everybody I know!”

If you’re not yet convinced that you should be well prepared to put your CPR skills to practice, we’ve found a story on the website “5 Minutes for Mom” called Have you ever had to use CPR? in which they talk about CPR review videos like the ones we have on ProCPR and ProHomeSafety.

They also have a story from a year prior called How Well Do You Know CPR? that details a scare that one of the writers had.  She talks about how she wants to know more than she does about CPR, and wants to stay on top of her things in case anything should happen again.

We send out a free weekly CPR refresher e-mail that you can use to watch one of our training videos every week to stay sharp in your training. The article is correct: there is no better time than right now to learn the techniques that can be used to save lives. How many times, on the news, do you hear about rescues because a bystander knew CPR? It’s practically all the time. Seems like at least once a week here, and I’m sure there are many more that go unreported in the news because it was just a simple CPR rescue.

Getting First Aid Training is very beneficial, and we have ways to do that. One of which, you’ll find linked above. ProFirstAid is an excellent resource with great video content that is offered for free.

You can also find training videos (with an expanding library) at our Home Safety Training website, ProHomeSafety.

You never know when tragedy may occur, so the best thing you can do for those you love, is be prepared with the skills to save lives.
