We’re all over the social networks, and we’d like you to join us there. Recently, Google+ added pages for business, and we’ve created a few that we’d like you to add, if you are part of that network. Google+ is a new social network that is kind of a combination of Facebook and Twitter, and includes games such as Angry Birds. It’s only about six or so months old, so it’s much smaller than either Facebook or Twitter. We’re monitoring all three places for your questions, though, so feel free to get in touch with us with them.
We’re re-launching Pro Home Safety as a blog to answer your questions about various topics on safety around the house. We’re very excited to venture in this new direction with the site, as it has been sitting around without any real change for about three years now.
The idea is that it will be a blog similar to Roy on Rescue. It will have entries that are both video based as well as text based. Earlier this summer, I worked on a new design for the site after being inspired by the logo that we had developed for it a while ago. After the design was finished, it inspired the concept for a blog that will run along side Roy on Rescue and this blog.
I’m very excited for the launch of this new blog, and I hope that you will come to find it as useful as we hope that it will be.

We’re all over social media, here at ProCPR. In fact, we’ve got many twitter accounts that you can follow, for updates on each of our current programs. We’d also like to invite you, if you haven’t already, to become a fan on Facebook. It’s a growing community of all of you that loves keeping your skills fresh with our training videos, and have a great time with the profession of saving lives. We’ve also got a youtube channel for you to subscribe to. We’re updating it regularly with new training videos and other fun videos that we come up with to promote life-saving skills.
In case you missed it, we sent out a press release on Tuesday morning regarding our mission to help people learn the skills that they can use to save the lives of family, friends, co-workers and others that may require CPR.

Everyone knows that taking a CPR class is a good idea, but nobody seems to have the time. Now you can learn CPR without leaving home.
Grand Rapids, MI (PRWEB) September 23, 2008 — High quality video-based CPR training is now being offered for free to anyone with Internet access at www.ProCPR.org.
According to statistics provided by the American Heart Association, about 75 to 80 percent of all sudden cardiac arrests happen at home. Knowing what to do in the case of an emergency could mean the difference between life and death for a loved one.
Now Roy Shaw, a licensed paramedic and co-founder of ProCPR.org, is determined to make this life saving training available to anyone who is willing to take the time to learn. According to Roy, “No price can be placed on the value of a life. The Internet is helping us break down the barriers that exist with classroom training.” Upon completing the program, Morgan Schäaf, a C.N.A. from Jacksonville, FL, wrote, “I found the training much more interesting and plausible than the traditional classroom experience. I’m going to recommend this to everybody I know!”

If you’re not yet convinced that you should be well prepared to put your CPR skills to practice, we’ve found a story on the website “5 Minutes for Mom” called Have you ever had to use CPR? in which they talk about CPR review videos like the ones we have on ProCPR and ProHomeSafety.
They also have a story from a year prior called How Well Do You Know CPR? that details a scare that one of the writers had. She talks about how she wants to know more than she does about CPR, and wants to stay on top of her things in case anything should happen again.
We send out a free weekly CPR refresher e-mail that you can use to watch one of our training videos every week to stay sharp in your training. Feel free to sign up to receive those. Savvy Cafe has an excellent article about Family and Parenting that has just been posted in their blog. The article is correct: there is no better time than right now to learn the techniques that can be used to save lives. How many times, on the news, do you hear about rescues because a bystander knew CPR? It’s practically all the time. Seems like at least once a week here, and I’m sure there are many more that go unreported in the news because it was just a simple CPR rescue.
Getting First Aid Training is very beneficial, and we have ways to do that. One of which, you’ll find linked above. ProFirstAid is an excellent resource with great video content that is offered for free.

You never know when tragedy may occur, so the best thing you can do for those you love, is be prepared with the skills to save lives.
Congress has announced that the first week of June is now National CPR/AED Awareness Week. It started on June 1 and is going until the 7th this year. We’re now in the middle of the week on the first annual week dedicated to the encouragement of CPR and AED trainings for anyone and everyone.
In support of this, we’re making our trainings on ProHomeSafety.com free for anyone to access with a free registration.
For the first time, we’ve been in a parade. We took our big red fire engine and decorated it for a parade in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. We entered the parade to begin the promotion of our new website: ProHomeSafety.com. We’ll have more information about that website at a later date.
