We’ve recently launched a new program that we’re very proud of and excited about. We are hopeful that many of you will want to take part in this, and train to become a CPR Skill Evaluator.
The course is blended, so while you can watch the videos and take the test online, we also require some extra training which we can do via webcam.
Becoming a CPR Skill Evaluator will also get you listed on Blended CPR. That way, people in your area can contact you for a skill evaluation, giving you another source of income.
We worked pretty hard on the training video library. We spent time re-filming all of the necessary videos to cover the 2010 CPR guideline updates. The updates apply to our CPR and First Aid training libraries:
Continuing our yearly tradition, we’ve also brought our float to a second parade. This one was the Rockford parade. The float was the same that we used at the other parade that we attended in downtown Grand Rapids.
We brought huge buckets of candy to hand out to people along the way. A good time was had by all. If you would like to see the float in action, I’ve attached the video from the previous parade here. They don’t usually air the Rockford parade on TV.
We have again entered a float into a parade. This time, we had a float that was created by our director of compliance, instead of the old fire engine. We hope that you enjoy our float!

A lot of you, and I do mean a lot, have been asking about the 2010 updates that have just released. Some are asking if they should start teaching it immediately, others if the updates have gone into effect yet.
The simple answer is that they haven’t gone into effect yet officially. New materials have to be created and printed or developed, and that takes time. I’d look for things to go into effect toward the middle of 2011, with full roll-out by the end of the year.
Like most everyone else, we’re actively working on updating our training modules, and you’re going to start seeing a new video intro on the ones that have been updated. Here’s a preview of that intro.
We’re very proud to announce that we have launched our new ProFirstAid Advanced program. ProFirstAid Advanced is online Pediatric CPR (adult, child, and infant) and First aid certification for the healthcare provider.
If you are currently certified with the Red Cross, AHA, American Safety Council, ASHI or Medic First Aid, you are welcome to utilize the program and receive a new, two-year ProFirstAid Advanced certificate. Blended learning certification with skills test is available.
Here at ProCPR we hope that you all had a safe and fun Independence Day weekend. We’ve been pretty busy around our offices lately. I’ve been working on a ton of new videos and making great headway, plus we’re making some plans for the next few months. One member of our team got married last month, and we’ve also got a wedding in each of August (mine) and September. So there is a lot going on this year both personally and professionally around the offices of ProCPR.
I’d like to go into more detail, but things aren’t yet in place for that. I can’t wait to tell you about some of the new things that we have in store for you. More than that, I can’t wait until they are launched! I think you’ll really enjoy them, and that it will fill a need that you’ve had for quite some time! How’s that for a teaser?
We would like to invite you all to use our new Facebook application for Hands-Only CPR Training. We encourage everyone to use the app to help spread the word about the free video training that we offer. It will help to spread awareness of the importance of CPR training. Even if you already have a professional certification, you can help to spread the word about this free training to your friends on Facebook simply by using the app.
This application was created in honor of National CPR and AED Awareness Week, which is the first week of June every year. Do your part to spread the word, especially if you find CPR to be a valuable skill that is worth knowing.
We’ve recently launched ProFirstAid Basic, which covers only Adult CPR/AED and First Aid for the general workplace. It takes out the Child and Infant trainings that are part of our regular First Aid course. It is available when you register at ProFirstAid.com.
We’ve worked hard at making this available for those that don’t require the full training, which normally includes Infant and Child training as well.
We’re all over social media, here at ProCPR. In fact, we’ve got many twitter accounts that you can follow, for updates on each of our current programs. We’d also like to invite you, if you haven’t already, to become a fan on Facebook. It’s a growing community of all of you that loves keeping your skills fresh with our training videos, and have a great time with the profession of saving lives. We’ve also got a youtube channel for you to subscribe to. We’re updating it regularly with new training videos and other fun videos that we come up with to promote life-saving skills.
